Fees and Charges
Free membership to Douglas residents.
Non-Douglas residents’ annual subscriptions are:
- Adults £10.00;
- Senior citizens £5.00;
- Children under 18 free;
- Students free on production of student card
(Unless separate arrangements have been agreed in advance with other individual authorities in which case there is no charge – please ask a member of staff. Currently arrangements exist with Braddan, Santon, Castletown, and Garff).
Reservations: 50p per item for adults and free for children
(18 & under)
An administration charge of 50p will be incurred by everyone who receives a letter advising of an overdue item. Please remember to return items on time or ring the library on 696461 or click here.to renew.

Lost/Damaged Book: Replacement cost plus administration charge.
Lost Membership Card: £1.00
Computer use guidelines
All customers will be required to agree to our Terms and Conditions of the Use of Computers and the Internet, otherwise access will be denied.
- All members of the library are entitled to up to 2 hours free use of the computers (in one-hour blocks during busy periods);
- After the free 2-hour period a charge of 75p for every 15 minutes will be levied;
- Non-library members are not entitled to the free 2-hour period and will be charged at the standard rate of 75p for every 15 minutes.
Concessions: Members who are of retirement age (60 and over) are entitled to free use of the computers every week day up until 1.00pm.
